I’ll be honest, I’m a little late onto the Twenty One Pilots train! But having being introduced to them by a friend earlier in the year, and having seen clips of their live shows, I had to do what I could to get into the photo pit for this one.

It doesn’t happen often but every now and then something goes wrong with the guest list, and tonight was one of those nights. After my photo pass had gone walk abouts, I had to prey the TOP tour manager could save my arse. Luckily 15minutes before they hit the stage he appeared with a pass for me.

I was straight into the pit and there was noticeably a lot more room than usual, presumably because of the extra drum kit that gets pulled out mid show, so that was a nice surprise as the photographers could move around a little easier.

When the show kicked off it was great fun to shoot! The guys hit the stage in a number of strange masks and outfits, and they had some pretty cool lighting and visuals displayed behind them which brought out some cool photos. After the first few songs had finished and I had to put my camera away, all the awesome stuff started happening, back flips from the piano, drum kits on top of the crowd, and explosions of confetti finishing off the night. If you had a AAA pass you’d have had a field day!

Unfortunately in the first 3 the lighting wasn’t the best and it was super tough to get the perfect shots, but after a good bit of post editing, here’s what a few of the final shots came out like!
